David C Bloomfield

For over 30 years, as an educator and attorney, David Bloomfield has delivered reliable, unique expertise to organizational clients and the education media on a broad array of complex education issues. The author of the widely read text, American Public Education Law, he has also published on curriculum, instructional technology, church/state, special education, student discipline, urban school governance, finance, No Child Left Behind, school improvement strategies, and other topics.


A graduate of Columbia University School of Law and Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public Affairs, David C. Bloomfield is Professor of Educational Leadership, Law, and Policy at The Graduate Center of The City University of New York and Chair, Department of Education, College of Staten Island, CUNY. A parent leader and former elementary and secondary school teacher, Bloomfield previously served as General Counsel to the New York City Board of Education and Senior Education Adviser to the elected Manhattan Borough President.

Amy Williams holds Masters degrees in English and teaching. She was a New York Educator Voice Resident Fellow in the 2014-15 school year, and was a National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Seminar Grant recipient in 2014. Her writing and lesson plans have appeared on ReadWriteThink, EdWeek Teacher, and in other publications. Amy was a tenured educator in New York where she taught grades 10, 12, English electives like Mass Media & Society and dual-enrollment courses with Tompkins Cortland Community College. She now teaches at an IB World School in Germany.

Bridie Gauthier @BridieGauthier

Bridie Gauthier is the Head of School of the Montessori School of Manhattan, educational circuit speaker, and author of Practical life for Parents – A Pocket Guide for Parenting Real-Life Moments.

Bridie co-founded MSM in 2002, and in 2011, launched a charitable outreach project, which built and continues to fund a preschool for two and three-year-old children in the impoverished Batey Lecheria, Dominican Republic. To date the D.R. Project has taken more than 200 of the youngest children off of the streets of the village.

Born and raised in Ontario, Canada, Bridie has been an educator of young children for 30 years. She left Canada for the bright lights of New York City in 1995, where she met and married her husband Joe. Bridie shares her time running MSM, travelling to the Dominican Republic, to conduct faculty training seminars and to work hands-on with the children of the Batey, public speaking, and spending time with the full-time joy in her life, Kai.
