Before Daniel became Executive Director of the American Association of School Administrators(AASA), he helped develop a school safety plan that was praised by the Department of Education and the Department of Homeland Security. In this segment he shares with us the fundamentals of creating a safer school and managing school emergencies when they occur.

Daniel Domenech has served as executive director of the American Association of School Administrators since July 2008. A native of Cuba who moved to the U.S. at the age of nine, Domenech has more than 36 years of experience in public education. Prior to joining AASA, Domenech served as senior vice president of the Urban Advisory Resource for McGraw-Hill Education and served for six years as superintendent of the Fairfax County, Virginia.
