Sylvia Martinez is the co-author of a new book, Invent To Learn: Making, Tinkering, and Engineering and President of Generation YES, a non-profit evangelizing student involvement in education reform through technology integration and service learning. Prior to that, Sylvia designed educational software, video games, and was an aerospace engineer. Tanya Baker has been the director of National Programs at the National Writing Project (NWP) since 2007. Her primary interests are adolescents as readers and learners and teachers’ professional development.
